Road to Recovery is an intensive day program tailored to each individual’s needs, resulting in the next steps to a satisfying life – outside of the program and in a shorter period of time. The program provides useful information and recovery tools such as effective use of psychiatric medications, development of coping skills, building a social support system, and guidance on meaningful activities to create a balanced lifestyle.
Pathway to Recovery participants are asked to make a commitment to attend and fully participate in each module of the program. Modules include behavior management, information and discussion about medications and their side effects, reading and comprehension, coping techniques and exercise. The RtR group also goes on field trips to visit museums, parks and other attractions.
There are currently 21 participants in the Pathway to Recovery program. Many of the graduates have moved on to the next step on the road to recovery by working or volunteering in the community or pursuing their educational goals.
